Faruk Genç
Software developer trained at 42 Istanbul. Full stack: interfaces, APIs, databases and the Linux servers they run on.
About
At 42 there are no lectures. You learn by building and by reading other people's code. That is how I learned C and C++. Today I work across the whole stack: interfaces, APIs, data models, the Linux servers and CI/CD underneath, and the integrations that connect AI agents to all of it. I take a product from its first schema to production and keep it running.

Built by hand
Older work from 42. Zero AI: every line typed, read and debugged by hand.
A full multiplayer platform for 42 students: server-authoritative real-time Pong, live chat, friends, match invites, tournaments and leaderboards over WebSockets, with 42 OAuth sign-in.
Django / Channels / WebSockets / PostgreSQL / Redis / Nginx / Docker
Pong, simulated live in a 64 by 22 character grid. An IRC server built from scratch in C++ on raw TCP sockets. One select() loop juggles every connected client: registration, channels, private messages, kicks and topics.
C++ / TCP sockets / select() / IRC protocol
Messages routed through the server, one packet at a time. A Wolfenstein-style 3D engine written from scratch in C: around 600 rays per frame, fisheye correction, textured walls and strict map validation, no game engine involved.
C / MiniLibX / Raycasting / DDA
Rays cast across a grid, drawn with characters instead of pixels. A Bash-style shell built from the system calls up in C: quote-aware parsing, variable expansion, pipelines of any length, redirections, heredocs, built-ins and signals.
C / fork / execve / Pipes / Signals / readline
Each command traced down to the system calls behind it.
More on GitHub
The rest of the 42 common core, plus side projects in Python and Rust.
github.com/faruktinaz- ProjectManagementSystemPythonA full-stack project registry: a Django REST API on PostgreSQL and a Vue 3 interface linking every project to its GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or Jira.
- Restaurant-Backend-REST-APIPythonA REST API with zero dependencies, routed by hand on Python's http.server: menu filters, quality scoring, pricing and budget-aware meal suggestions.
- py-ascii-webcamPythonReal-time ASCII video: a live webcam feed rendered as characters in the terminal, refitting itself whenever the window resizes.
- push_swapCGreedy, cost-based sorting on two stacks with only eleven operations, built to win on move count. Graded 125/100, checker included.
- philosophersCThe classic concurrency problem, solved in C with POSIX threads and mutexes: deadlock-free forks and a monitor that catches starvation within milliseconds.
- so_longCA complete 2D game in C on MiniLibX: flood-fill map validation, frame-based sprite animation, a patrolling enemy and a live move counter.
- minitalkCA messaging protocol made of nothing but two UNIX signals: a PID handshake, then every byte sent as eight SIGUSR1 and SIGUSR2 bits. Unicode included.
- cpp-modulesC++Ten modules from C++ fundamentals to the STL: OOP, operator overloading, exceptions, casts and templates, finishing with a Bitcoin exchange-rate calculator and an RPN evaluator.
- mini_so_long_rustRustA quick port of so_long to Rust with piston_window, written to learn a new language and its game loop.
- libftCA from-scratch C standard library: 34 libc and utility functions plus a linked-list API, the foundation every later 42 project was built on.
- ft_printfCprintf rebuilt from zero with variadic arguments: nine conversions, pointers and hex included, in about 160 lines.
- get_next_lineCReads any file descriptor one line per call with a single static buffer, and juggles several descriptors at once in the bonus.
